Using Ucubd Multimedia Resumes to Improve the Job Hiring Process

Ucubd is really versatile! For example, we’ve seen people use Ucubd multimedia resumes instead of regular text resumes. The Ucubd resume is basically one or more cubes containing a text resume and other information (pictures, presentations, Excel files, etc.) that supports a candidate’s profile.

Whether you’re looking for full-time/part-time employment, just entering the job market as a student, or have ten years of experience, it pays to properly present your profile to recruiters and human resource departments. These groups fill job openings by sifting through mounds of resumes to find candidates ideally suited for a particular job. They add value by screening candidates based on technical, academic, & work merits.

Unfortunately, in most cases they are limited to judging a candidate based on what he or she writes on their resume. Without actually being able to verify qualifications it becomes difficult to judge the quality of the candidate. After reviewing a resume, an HR professional will likely check academic records, job recommendations/references, and work samples. Instead of having the HR professional find your qualifications from different sources, wouldn’t it be great if resume verification could be included with your resume? Your answer of course is YES and Ucubd fulfills this need.

A Ucubd multimedia resume is a simple, yet effective, recruiting tool that allows job seekers to interact with hiring professionals so that both parties have a clear picture of the candidate. From a cost perspective, the Ucubd multimedia resume is an inexpensive option since candidates can create their own multimedia resume for free as a member of Ucubd. All Ucubd multimedia resumes can include standard info like a resume, picture, and recommendations. More importantly they can be customized for a particular industry-

Management jobs – include writing samples, presentations, speeches, etc.

Design jobs- include your best portfolio samples using flash, widgets, video, or pictures!

Finance jobs – include spreadsheets, PPT presentations, speeches, marketing docs, etc.

Engineering jobs – include analysis reports, code samples, etc.

Sales jobs - include writing samples, presentations, sales pitches, etc.

Healthcare jobs, medical jobs, or nursing jobs- include reports, papers, and certificates.

This is just one of the many ways we’ve seen Ucubd being used. We’re on the lookout for others and will be sharing more as we come across them.

Using Top-10 Cubes to Drive User Interaction

One of the advantages of a microsite is that it allows you to easily aggregate content. Top ten lists are a fun & easy way to stimulate discussion amongst your readers. If you're doing a daily blog on politics, you can search the web and compile the ten most popular political videos so that your readers can easily keep abreast of what everyone else is watching. Similarly, one could easily share sports, movie, music, tv, and entertainment collages with their readers.

Check out the cube below with my favorite dunkers of all time. Notice that all of the content can be watched in the same microsite. This makes comparisons easy and prevents viewers from having to clicks on links and wait for their browser to process another webpage. Your alternative to this would be listing ten video links in succession which doesn't look great and also isn't easily pushed around the internet (Facebook, emails, websites, other blogs).

It took me more time to pick the links from YouTube than it did to create the cube. Full disclosure, even more time was lost watching the videos. Honorable mentions- Tom Chambers, Charles Barkley, George Gervin and David Thompson.
